The Cosmos and the Cool Cats

My name is Nathan. I am a member of fixed gear valley.  This is the sweet 1969 Astra that I purchased from an old man in american fork for $20.  Thanks go to Whitney.  She met the old man a week before and scoped out the bike and saved his number in her phone.  Thanks go to Mark as well who took this beautiful bike for a test drive but decided that it wasn't for him.
Fate I guess, perhaps destiny then, brought us together.  She is now mine and I am hers.  Her name is Medda and yes she is on top of the world.

I stripped off all her parts (wow, that sounds so seductive) and now I'm working on getting the rest of the old paint off her frame.

I have a great image in my mind of how she will look when she is all done.  I can't wait but its a few hundred dollars away.

The history of Medda-
Manufactured in Italy.  Migrated to America.  Purchased by Glade in 1969 to be used on his LDS Mission in New England.  Medda traveled the east coast streets including riding with the cool cats in New York and the cosmos from Boston.  She was then slowly induced to a life of abuse.  Left in the garage for days on end, left low on air and littered with rust.  It was about 30 years later when she was saved by her prince charming.  Me.  I am her Jack Kelly and thus, she my Medda.  I love you Medda and our life together will be long and fruitful.

I need to finish sanding down my bike. But I think I'm going to buy my parts next week. The dude at my work is still keeping his eyes peeled for stuff for us.
